To the Lord

" 'As surely as I live,' says the Lord, 'every knee will bow before me; every tongue will confess to God." Romans 14:11

This morning, in my quiet time, God reminded me again in Romans 14 the reason for our short-term missions trip. It is foolish to think that we live for ourselves. One, who believes, should live for the Lord. In verses 5-8, Paul mentions "to the Lord" six times. Verse 8 says, "If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord." It is because of Christ dying and resurrecting that we have been saved. Our purpose in life should be aligned with God's, which is clearly stated in verse 11. All will come to know Him and give Him praise.

Once again, I am deeply humbled by God's grace. As I, and the team, prepare for our short-term missions trip to Japan I am reminded the reason for going. My personal goals are secondary to God's purpose and plan for the people of Japan. My prayer is that the people we meet will be curious about our faith. Many seeds will be planted.

  1. Yes, Yeajee, I totally agree with you and am on the same page. I am honored to be used by Him for His purpose and plan for Japan. I sometimes want to see His big picture and want to know where i am on it, but now i don't care. He knows everything and prepares ahead for us to work for His kingdom. I will just follow Him with you all.
